We comply with: Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2024, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, Children Act 1989 & 2004, Education Act 2002, and UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018.
All staff complete annual safeguarding training, Prevent Duty awareness, online safety training, code of conduct training, and reporting procedures training.
Staff are alert to signs of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, child-on-child abuse, online exploitation, and radicalisation (Prevent Duty). Indicators may include changes in behaviour, unexplained injuries, fearfulness, or withdrawal.
All concerns must be reported immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Staff must record factual information only, avoid leading questions, never promise confidentiality, and report even if unsure. The DSL will assess, refer to Children's Social Care or Police where required, and record all actions securely.
We do not tolerate bullying, sexual harassment, sexual violence, harmful sexual behaviour, physical aggression, or online abuse. All incidents are reported and handled in line with KCSIE guidance.
Staff must maintain professional boundaries, use appropriate language, avoid being alone with a child where possible, never transport children without permission, and never share personal contact details.
All safeguarding records are stored securely, accessed only by authorised staff, retained in line with statutory guidance, and shared only on a need-to-know basis.
Any allegation involving a staff member is reported to the DSL and the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). We follow statutory procedures to ensure fairness and child safety.
